The programme will provide you with deeper knowledge and research training in important subjects within fields related to international health. The aim of the programme is to provide research training as part of competence building in low-income countries.

Oppbygging av studiet

The Master´s Programme in International Health comprises of two main components: a tuition part and an individual research project (Master´s thesis). The tuition part includes basic (compulsory) courses and a study track or individual studies carried out in collaboration with the supervisor(s), each of at least 30 ECTS credits. The final year consists of research and preparation of a thesis (60 ECTS credits).

Masteroppgåve

The aim of the thesis is for you as a student to demonstrate knowledge of central research principles and to critically and systematically analyse different research topics and data materials.

Metode

A combination of lectures and individual studies will be used, applying both qualitative and quantitative methods depending on the research topic.

Forkunnskaper

A first degree (Bachelor´s degree) of three or four years´ duration from an approved institution of higher education, as well as proficiency in the English language.

Krav til forkunnskapar

Candidates are selected from graduates of schools of medicine or dentistry, and from graduates of related disciplines of science or social sciences such as public health, nursing, nutrition, human biology, medical technology, pharmacy, social and behavioural sciences and international health.
