Who are we? Adding Value Consulting (AVC)
AVC introduced MoP in Norway in 2006 and has since promoted the method's growth in the Nordic region.
AVC is a leading ATO (Accredited Training Organization), which organizes courses in the Nordics, regarding the following leading practices; PRINCE2, PMP, IPMA, MSP, MoP, P3O, MoR, Managing Benefits, Change Management, ITIL, and many others.
What is MoP?
The Management of Portfolios (MoP) guidance has been developed to provide senior executives and decision makers with an overview of portfolio management - the principles upon which it is based, some of the techniques used, and how to get started and sustain progress.
MoP is closely aligned to the programme and project management methodologies outlined in MSP and PRINCE2, but focuses on the management of the change that is delivered by formalized project and programme management, rather than the individual initiatives.
The guidance addresses the key concepts of portfolio management, its benefits to an organization and how it fits in with current business processes.
Why should you train MoP?
Our training approach: Our training courses are designed to help the participant pass the exams, but more importantly we want the participant to be able to apply the MoP method to portfolio management in practice. We provide the participant with the knowledge, which can directly be used in daily practice. We run our training course as a very practical and hands-on workshop approach.
Our courses are based around a real-life case study with various scenarios to walk through each stage of the programme lifecycle. Case studies will enable the participant to understand the best practice way of applying the MoP method to deliver a successful project portfolio management. The participants will learn the theory but in a fun and engaging way.
When: We are currently planning our MoP training session in Oslo, during week 50 (12-16 Dec). We have a number of participants. We run this course in smaller groups of max. 8 participants per group.

“The important factor to the success of the training was not only the content provided, but of more importance, was the way the trainers’ facilitated discussion – communication which promoted recommendations for improvement in our organization.
I am looking forward to making a difference.
