Kurs: RVK Basic Course(Statutory Skills)

Course target groups:

The basic course is designed for those who need a general introduction to the new Regulations, including management groups in industry and professional and industrial bodies. Also journalists, politicians, students and everyone with an interest in safety offshore will find participation useful. The basic course also forms the basis of the more specialized add-on studies.

The course objective:

The course will offer a brief historical account, focusing on events and important milestones that have contributed to the development of our current offshore regulations. The participants will be given an outline of the structure and content of the new Regulations, materialized in a joint set of Regulations for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority (SFT) and the Norwegian Board of Health (H.til). The course will focus on key concepts and ideas within the Regulations, attempting to clarify roles and responsibilities, HES-related management, various requirements made in the Regulations, including the distinction between shall, should and may in the Regulations and notes. Furthermore, information will be given on the coming into force and implementation of the Regulations. Course content: A brief historical account, focusing on the events and important milestones that have contributed to the development of the current offshore regulations. An outline of the structure and content of the new Regulations, materialized in a joint set of regulations for the NPD, SFT and H.til. More detailed knowledge of key terms and concepts within the Regulations. Understanding of; -responsibilities and roles, (such as obligated party, monitoring duty and employee participation) -HES-related management, (such as management loop, change processes, safety and safety culture, risk and risk reduction) -various statutory requirements (such as multidisciplinary, general and special requirements, functional and detail requirements) including the distinction between shall, should and may in the Regulations and comments. Information about the coming into force and implementation of the new Regulations.
