The Rescue from Vehicles in Water (RVW) course is specifically designed for Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technicians, focusing on the essential skills needed to execute rescues involving vehicles in water.

Utilising an in-water training vehicle this course allows existing Swiftwater and Flood Technicians to practically explore the techniques to access, stabilise and execute rescues from vehicles in swiftwater and floods.  Depending upon time of the year the course will also include a practical in-water night exercise

Core content includes:

  • Vehicle behaviour in water
  • Glass Management considerations
  • Vehicle access techniques
  • Multiple casualty rescue considerations.


Prerequisites


  • Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician

  • Minimum age 18
