• Introduction of forces affecting lifts through the whole lifting operation
• Use of crane tugger winches
• Use of active/passive heave compensation
• Planning of lifting operations
• Introduction of anti heeling system
• UHF/VHF communications
• Use of procedures

LEARNING PROCESS
The course is designed to enable engineers / project managers / technical personnel to get an operational
perspective of subsea crane lift. Various subsea crane operations and how to handle a subsea crane will be
covered.
From an engineering perspective there will also be focused on planning, performing and evaluating the operation of a lift, different types of loads/forces, use of tugger/towers, crane limitations etc.
This will be achieved through a concentrated period of exercises on a full scale DNV GL Class A crane simulator,
supported by a program of lectures and instruction.
There will be operation scenarios at berth and in open sea during various weather conditions.
The theory will cover various types of load charts, external forces on loads and crane in various crane modes.
