ViewPoint/Critical Chain Project Management enables a multi-project organization to realize shorter and more reliable lead times. Reducing project lead times provides companies with the capability to develop a competitive advantage. This competitive advantage comes from two sources:
1. The project benefits are realized sooner; and
2. Additional project capacity is made available to complete even more projects with the same resources.
Does every organization realize benefits from completing projects sooner? We claim yes. We claim that every organization can achieve a competitive advantage by completing projects sooner. Sometimes this competitive advantage is obvious to see: getting products to market faster, quoting shorter lead times than competitors on projects, and realizing internal benefits sooner.
