Metoden kombinerer designernes iterative tilnærming til tjeneste- og produktutvikling, med økonomenes analytiske og strategiske metoder for forretningsutvikling. Resultatet blir løsninger som har større sannsynlighet for å svare på brukerbehovene, er lønnsomme og i tråd med forretningsstrategi.
